At SQLBits last month some of our team gave fantastic sessions on a variety of topics. For those who missed the presentations we will be showcasing their presentations through a series of blogs so you don’t miss out! First up we have José Mendes. José is a Principal Data Analytics Consultant with experience in delivering Microsoft Azure/ SQL Data Analytics solutions across a range of industries and is also Co-organiser of the Surrey Data Platform Group. José presented ‘Deep Dive into the Common Data Model’ at SQLBits.
A synopsis of the session is below:
Very commonly we find companies building data silos by using different applications to help them manage their day to day operations, but what happens when they decide to, with reduced effort, build a data model to be the source of the single version of truth? The solution, the Common Data Model (CDM).
In this session, we will deep dive into the CDM world and understand how it integrates with the Power Platform and the Azure Services.
At the end of the session, attendees will have learned how to deploy, extend and use the CDM along with other Microsoft technologies like Power Apps, Power BI Dataflows and Azure Databricks.
We hope you enjoyed the José’s video presentation. If you would like to know more, José has also created a series of Common Data Model Blogs that you can check out below:
